In Alaska, scientists have found traces of salmon remains hundreds of miles inland from salmon-fed rivers. That's because bears, birds, and other animals flock to the spawning salmon for the life they give. If a bear or bird drops part of the fish, it then feeds the trees and the plants that give life. Salmon truly are a full circle species.
