Northern Aspects is a 6-layer reduction linocut created for the 2025/26 Northern Aspects Film Festival poster. The piece draws inspiration from the dramatic, steep spine lines of Alaska skiing and the moody, short days of an Alaskan winter.
A reduction linocut is a printmaking technique where a single linoleum block is carved and printed in stages - each layer of color is cut away after printing, making it impossible to reprint once finished. This process builds the image layer by layer, with precision and commitment in every cut. The piece took 2.5 months to complete - each layer requiring meticulous carving, printing, and drying time before moving to the next.
This is a limited edition of 10.
- Inked image size: 7" x 9.5" on 8.5" x 11" Lokta paper.
- The print is signed by the artist, titled and numbered.
- Lokta is a sustainable paper, hand-crafted in Nepal.

- Each print is hand-printed, so slight shifts in placement may occur—these unique variations add to their one-of-a-kind charm.
